Yard design specialists
Drawing on more than 25 years of expertise in sheep yard design, it’s fair to say our team is the most experienced sheep yard designers in New Zealand. We love collaborating closely with farmers, understanding their methods and operations, and relishing the challenge of crafting a tailored design. Factors we take into account include budget constraints, the nature of the sheep farming operation, flock/mob size, sunlight orientation, ground contour, surrounding landmarks, property direction, and many other variables. Long lasting
Unlike wood which is prone to twisting and rotting over time, our steel yards are a testament to longevity and sustainability. We use a special extrusion imported from Australia, and all components are fully hot dip galvanised.

Railed & Solid Panels / Gates
We use strategic balanced combination of fully sheeted panels/gates, units with solid sheeting at the top and railed at the bottom, and standard or lowered panels/gates as needed. The solid sheeted components find utility in tight working spaces such as drenching and drafting races, while strategically placed railed panels/gates aid in directing the movement of sheep, ensuring a seamless flow.
Slam latches
We use a galvanized spring-loaded 'slam latch,' enabling a swift and secure gate closure, and a fast but ‘sheep-proof’ twist motion to open. These latches are adjustable and demand minimal maintenance, needing only a periodic squirt of lubricant every few months.
Loading ramp
Choose from our range of permanent heavy-duty loading ramps featuring options for electric or manual winches, sidewalk, anti-drop safety system, truck stop, and additional features.
Circular diamond
Our circular ‘diamond’ is designed to efficiently direct sheep from multiple pens to specific directions in the yard.
Bugle shaped races
Our races are strategically shaped like a 'bugle' with a tapered curved design, giving sheep the impression of an escape route. This design ensures a smooth and constant flow.

Can I install the yards myself?
Yes, we supply install plans and advice on how to install yourself, however, its’ recommended to only consider installation if you have experience in building or in another similar industry.
